Peter Corbett’s Bio

How do I tell you all the things? We contain multitudes after all. Perhaps read some of my recent posts on Medium here or sign up for my Substack email list. You can find me on Twitter and Linkedin.

Within me there is a CEO, a coach, an adventurer and a mystic. There’s an enterprise sales guy with $100m+ of deals under his belt. There’s a consumer marketing expert who’s won all the awards, worked with all the big brands and knows it doesn’t matter. Then, there is a gardener, survivalist, creative, and trained spiritual caregiver who attends to the sick and dying through hospice volunteering.

If you’re still curious, my way-to-long CV is below.

2018-Present:

  • Executive Coach and Advisor to CEOs/Founders and their teams

  • Expert facilitator of retreats, workshops, and small groups (YPO forums / Hampton etc.)

  • Co-Founder of Spirituality Week, a community festival in NYC focused on mind, body, spirit

  • Venture Partner at UP.Partners, a $230m fund focused on mobility, autonomy, and space tech.

  • Early-stage investor/advisor/mentor (SmallHold, NewLab, Kosterina, Profi)

  • Real estate investor (20+ deals in 5 years, 1st ground-up spec project is for sale)

  • Board Member and former Forum Chair for YPO Metro New York; current chapter CFO

  • Volunteer, Springs Food Bank, and East End Hospice

  • Trained “Spiritual Caregiver” for the sick and dying, with over 150 clients served

Pre-2018 (before retiring from CEO life):

Founder of iStrategyLabs (ISL) – a digital agency that developed solutions to clients’ challenges and brought them to life in the online and offline world. In 2016, Peter sold ISL to WPP (the world’s largest publicly traded marketing services company) after a competitive process with 7 potential acquirers. His retirement announcement is here.

Through the course of his career, Peter became widely known for his marketing acumen, coupled with a deep technical background and a focus on community building. His client work included brands like NBCUniversal, Facebook, Google, USA Network, Sam Adams, Disney, ESPN, ABC, NPR, PBS, GE, Microsoft, NASDAQ, Intel, GEICO, American Eagle Outfitters, Pinkberry, Honest Tea, Coca-Cola, Crate & Barrel/CB2, Chase, Capital One, Rosetta Stone, The US Army, Deloitte, McKinsey, Volkswagen, Audi, Ford, Hilton, Double Tree, Embassy Suites Hotels, Marriott, 1 Hotels, Sweetgreen and more.

Peter’s experiences as a programmer and designer in his teens, concert producer and business school student in college, TV producer and ad agency exec combine to provide a perspective that is expansive. In 2016, after winning 20 Cannes Lions and 2 Small Agency of the Year awards, Peter sold ISL to WPP, bringing the company he founded into the J. Walter Thompson company network, and establishing ISL as a global player in the full-service digital agency space.

A tireless champion of innovation and disruptors everywhere – Peter has become a globally sought-after speaker and mentor. His network extends deeply across 70 countries around the world where he's mentored startups, keynoted conferences, and facilitated workshops on business formation, product marketing and development, hardware prototyping, and creative marketing approaches. He remains a definitive connector and leader among DC and NYC's creative and technology community, having spent years as a grassroots organizer driven to build a healthy ecosystem for entrepreneurs.

He has mentored a dozen startup accelerator classes, advised hundreds of early-stage tech companies, founded the massive DC Tech Meetup that currently boasts 25,000+ members, created the 12,000+ person DCWEEK festival and 6,000+ person Spirituality Week Festival in NYC.
